Saved material remains available, and downloaded PDFs can be opened offline. Retry later or check the original paper in a browser. Remove and redownload a damaged PDF; clearing thumbnails does not remove the full PDF.

Saving a paper does not itself download its PDF. Download it and confirm it opens before relying on offline access.

Backup and restore

Export current data before restoring. Paper-library and link backups are separate. Link backups contain complete URLs whose query parameters or fragments may be private. Choose a trusted destination. Restore replaces the corresponding data and preserves an earlier local copy. Manage exported files yourself.

Website previews and local links

Saving a link does not automatically connect to its site. A preview request starts only after you request it and confirm the destination; another site requires another confirmation. Some sites do not support previews. You can decline or cancel and open the source instead. Clearing image caches keeps links and saved summaries; editing or deleting a link invalidates its preview.

Local reading mode

This release does not provide accounts, cloud sync, discussions or cloud AI; signing in or resetting a password cannot enable them. View original figures in the paper PDF. Related topics are matched locally, without online citation lookups. Supported devices can use on-device Apple Intelligence; original papers, curated explanations and system translation remain alternatives.

Service availability in this release

This release has no configured account service, sync, discussions or cloud AI. These features are unavailable and reading data stays local. Online paper sources and websites that you choose to open or request still receive the corresponding network requests.

On-device insights

Supported iPhones can use on-device Apple Intelligence, subject to device and system availability. This release has no cloud AI and does not send questions to a model provider.
