Reading and network

Saved local data remains available for reading; online search and PDF downloads need a network connection. Searches connect directly to arXiv. Check your connection or retry later after a network failure rather than clearing data. This Android release has no account service, cloud sync, discussions or cloud AI, and needs no sign-in.

Links and previews

Save a link, then request a preview in its details and confirm the destination. Editing, saving and listing links do not themselves make network requests. Some public HTTPS sites or images are unsupported; you can still keep your own title and link. Clearing preview images does not delete link records.

Two kinds of backup

Paper-library data and links have separate JSON backup controls. Choose a destination in the system picker for export, and select the matching backup and read its confirmation for restore. Restoring links does not change papers or notes but clears image previews. A link backup is not a full library backup.

Backups are unencrypted; keep them private. The document provider may sync them to its cloud. Save needed backups before uninstalling or clearing app data, and delete exported copies yourself when no longer needed.

Service availability in this release

This release has no configured account service, sync, discussions or cloud AI. These features are unavailable and reading data stays local. Online paper sources and websites that you choose to open or request still receive the corresponding network requests.
