Privacy policy
Reading data on your device
Saved papers, notes, interests, reading history, translations, insights, talk drafts, public paper metadata and save times are stored on your device by default. Browsing and local reading do not require an account. This release does not provide developer-operated accounts or account sync.
Online paper sources
Online search and PDFs connect to arXiv with search terms or paper identifiers. Opening a source connects to its website. Receiving hosts can see connection information such as IP addresses.
Manually saved links
Manually adding a link stores its complete HTTPS URL, title and save time. Saving, editing and browsing the list do not contact the website. Link records are excluded from paper-library account sync. Opening a source hands it to the system browser. Query parameters or fragments in a URL may contain personal information.
HarmonyOS link feature scope
This version does not fetch webpage or image previews. Saving a link does not contact its destination; opening the source lets the browser access it. The iOS preview feature is not part of this HarmonyOS version.
Caches and separate backups
Paper thumbnails are generated locally from already downloaded PDFs without an extra download. Clearing thumbnails keeps the full PDFs. Link backups and paper-library backups are separate and go to a location you choose. Link backups contain complete URLs but not accounts, sessions or image caches. Restore preserves a previous local copy. Deleting content does not delete exported files or old backups.
Offline read-aloud and unavailable cloud features
HarmonyOS read-aloud uses offline device speech and does not record your voice. This version has no cloud AI or discussion interface; video export and system translation are also not enabled. It does not send questions to model providers. With no release service configured, accounts and sync are unavailable and reading data stays local.
Permissions and system services
This version declares network permission for online paper search and PDFs. Backups use the system file picker, and sharing or copying is initiated by you. The reviewed implementation does not request location, contacts or microphone access and includes no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Service availability in this release
This release has no configured account service, sync, discussions or cloud AI. These features are unavailable and reading data stays local. Online paper sources and websites that you choose to open or request still receive the corresponding network requests.
Policy updates
We update this policy when features or data handling change. New uses of data will be explained before you use the relevant feature.
Support and privacy requests
Include the app name, platform, app and OS versions, steps and error message. Send only what is needed, redact private material, and never send passwords, recovery codes, tokens or a complete private collection.
